this summer, including the return of last year’smegahit: Summer Sessions (p11).Designed specifically to ensure continuity and progression in your dance skills in the gap between the summer and autumn terms, they’re back this July to keep you brushed up on your ballet, contemporary, Pilates, jazz and hip hopmoves.
In fact, hip hop’s a bit of a running theme this summer, aswe’re hosting workshops with international superstars to go along with JamPiece (p12), a day of b-boy and b-girl battles on Sundaydancebase grassmarket edinburgh arts culture scottish 2May. Naturally,we’ll also be offering our usual Hip Hop Open Sessions (p12) aswell, so you’re spoiled for choice.
Don’t forget, there’s still time to book on for Save the FirstDance (p10), aswell. If you’re planning yourwedding, this series ofworkshops is the perfectway tomaster the first dance of your dreams. Our Summer School (p37) is back in July, too,with dance, circus and animation fusing together to formthe perfect summer entertainment. This year,we’re also offering a Summer Dance Intensive for 13–18 year-olds (p36), ideal for any young people
looking to start taking dancemore seriously.

quality, positive dance experiences in both ourwonderful building and in the community.
Our summer termis full of great opportunities – we have our summer school and summer
intensive for children and young people to kick start their summer holiday, where they can learn
new skills and have loads of fun. In communities across South Edinburgh we have our Seated
Swing work in care home and day centres and our ongoing Everybody Dance Now! project
